Summer may be simmering down, but September’s event lineup is smokin’. Here are 6 can’t-miss-events coming to Marquette next month.
Why sit around all Labor Day weekend and binge eat/drink, when you could run the Marquette marathon or half marathon (Sept. 1-2)? Exactly. This Boston Qualifier is both scenic and epic, including trails throughout 3 historic cities, elevation changes, and Superior shoreline coverage. Can’t beat that. So what are you waiting for? Last day to sign up is Aug. 30.
The 14th annual Blues Fest is taking over Lower Harbor Park (Sept. 1-3) for a full weekend of blues, brews, wines, workshops, and more. Friday’s festivities are free to the general public, but Saturday and Sunday are ticketed only. “Students” 23 & under can buy tickets at the gate, children 14 & under enter free with paid adult.
The best week of the year is almost here. Marquette Craft Beer Week (Sept. 5-9) is a five-day celebration of Michigan beer and breweries in downtown Marquette featuring tap takeovers, food and beer pairings, pre-parties and more, all leading up to UP Fall Beer Fest, Saturday, Sept. 9. Full Schedule.
It’s pretty tough to top UP Fall Beer Fest (Sept. 9) at Mattson Lower Harbor Park. There’s something about a cold craft beer (or six) on a cool fall day that just warms your heart. Plus any excuse to start drinking at 1 pm on a Saturday helps. Wanna partake? We recommend buying your pass in advance because there’s always a chance it could sell out.
The 4th annual Pride Fest (Sept. 16) takes place at Tourist Park 12pm-10pm. Come out and show your support for the LGBTQIA+ community! This year’s event hopes to include more entertainment, speakers, vendors, and attendees than ever. For more event info or to volunteer/become a vendor visit www.uprainbowpride.org.
Time to tune-up your bike and tell your buddies—the Marquette Mountain Bike Enduro is back Sept. 30. Course info and event schedule coming soon, but for now, register before Sept. 5 and save $5.
