Das Steinhaus (literally translated as “The Stone House”) is Marquette’s newest fine dining experience. Our menu is produced entirely in house. From Pretzels, to pickles, to mustard; if we don’t make it, we don’t serve it. We have 5 sausages, wiener schnitzel, apple strudel, and much more. Chef Fairbanks is committed to sustainability and local farms are proudly featured on the menu. The beverage program furthers the concept by offering 30+ beers from Michigan and Germany, a wine list developed collaboratively with Everyday Wines, and locally roasted beans by Dead River Coffee .

We want to transport people, but not make them forget where they are.” said Justin. “We are attempting to create a cuisine that draws inspiration from the Germanic countries; expressed through a Michigan lens.”

The founders of Das Steinhaus are Yoopers through and through. “We do local, because that’s who we are.”
